Heating

The house just won’t get warm: This is the most obvious clue, of course. No matter how high you crank the thermostat, the temperature stubbornly refuses to budge.

Strange noises: Is your boiler groaning like a rusty swing set or hissing like a disgruntled goose? Unusual sounds coming from your heating system can indicate anything from loose parts to leaks.

Cold radiators: Even with the heating on full blast, your radiators remain stubbornly cool to the touch. This suggests a problem with circulation or the boiler itself.

Pilot light woes: If you have a gas boiler, a flickering or extinguished pilot light is a red flag and could indicate a gas leak or other safety hazard.

Damp and condensation: A poorly functioning heating system can lead to increased moisture in the air, causing damp patches and condensation on windows.
